Grove Road cafe is Dublins latest addition to the already thriving coffee scene. Terry design worked with the client on the brief which focused on maximising the usage of space. Despite its modest size the cafe feels airy and spacious, the expansive Art Deco windows flood the interior with light, a mirrored wall gives the illusion of more depth and the menu board provides extra storage for tea leaves and tableware. The design has a strong industrial influence, reclaimed timber, angle iron, hemp rope and concrete are used which contrast with materials like Lg-HiMac and plastic. A punch of colour is injected with vibrant red chairs however the colour palette elsewhere is kept to a minimum which allow appreciation for the raw palette of materials.
