Mid-Century-Modern

Location:
Bangor

The focus for this project was on materiality and texture. The client’s love of salvaged timber was the driving force behind the design.

With a passion for mid-century pieces and design classics, the overall feel of the space was to be industrial but with a softer more 'chic' approach. As the clients are keen chefs, ample work surface and clever storage solutions were also very important. Open drawers with dividers for chopping boards and trays create the perfect work station whilst cooking.

A clever balance of reclaimed gym floor fronts, grey painted finishes and the subtle veined dark stone top is striking against the brick wall and polished concrete floor. Overall the palette is neutral and complements the client’s colourful collection of one-off pieces and quirky finds.
